Adult Education Center

The Adult Education Center (AEC) is here to help you start or restart your path to success! Our free program is designed for individuals age 16 and older who want to:

• Prepare for the GED®
• Get ready for college
• Improve skills to qualify for better job opportunities

Why choose AEC?

• Tuition is completely free
• Learning materials are provided
• Students progress at their own pace
• Small group instruction supports your individual goals

Eligibility:
To enroll, you must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully present in the United States. For details, see the list of acceptable documents.

What to bring to orientation:

• Social Security number
• Personal contact information and address
• Emergency contact information (if available)

And one of the following documents:

• REAL ID (Idaho Star Card driver’s license or state ID)
• U.S. birth certificate
• U.S. passport
• For other acceptable forms of identification, see the complete list of authorized documents.

Main Adult Education Center (AEC)

The main Adult Education Center is located on the North Idaho College (NIC) campus in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Directions: Our physical location is 875 W. Garden Ave., Coeur d’Alene 83814. The entrance is on the north side of the Molstead Building (building 23 on the NIC map), between Hubbard and River Ave. We are located upstairs on the second floor, and we are called the Adult Education Center.

We offer a variety of resources and tools to support you as you work toward your educational goals.

Hours of Operation

• Monday through Thursday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Friday: Closed

Class Times:

• Monday through Thursday: 8 a.m. to noon.
• Monday through Thursday: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Online classes with instructor support are also available.

Other AEC Locations

NIC’s Adult Education Center also serves students in Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry. While these locations offer more limited services, they continue to provide important educational support to their local communities.
