Whether you are enrolling as a college student for the first time, coming back to school after a break, transferring from another institution, or traveling from another country to attend NIC, we are happy you chose NIC for your academic journey.
There are a few things that you should do after you have either applied to certain programs or received your acceptance email.
Please read the following options very carefully and select the option that best fits:

New Students:
I have received an acceptance email/letter from NIC and I am a new student.
You are a new student if:
- You are taking college level classes for the first time at NIC but are not still in high school.
- You took classes in high school as a dual credit student and are now graduating high school and continuing to take classes at NIC.
- You did not apply to a Career and Technical Education Program or limited entry program.
Returning Students:
I have received an acceptance email/letter from NIC and I am a returning student.
You are a returning student if:
- You have taken college level classes at NIC in the past, but did not take them in high school as a dual credit student.
- You did not apply to a Career and Technical Professional Program or limited entry program.
- You did not apply to a Trades and Industry Program.
Dual Credit Students:
I have received a next steps email from NIC and I am taking, or planning to take, dual credit courses as a high school or homeschool student.
You are a dual credit student if:
- You are taking classes as a high school or homeschool student who is enrolling in the dual credit program.
Non Degree Students:
I have received an acceptance and next steps email from NIC and I have selected my program as non-degree.
You are a non degree student if:
- You have applied as a non degree student and are not intending to receive a degree or certificate.
Career and Technical Professional Program Students:
I have received a next steps email from NIC and I am planning to take a career and technical professional program.
You are a career and technical professional program student if:
- You have applied to a career and technical professional program.
- You did not apply to a limited or selected entry program.
- You did not apply to a Trades and Industry program
Career and Technical Education: Limited and Selective Entry Students:
I have received a next steps email from NIC and I am planning to take a limited or selected entry program or a limited Trades and Industry program
