Congratulations on your acceptance to NIC!
We are excited to welcome you to the Cardinal community! Whether you are enrolling as a college student for the first time, coming back to school after a break, transferring from another institution, or traveling from another country to attend NIC, we are happy you chose NIC for your academic journey.
There are a few things that you should do after you receive your acceptance letter. Follow the steps below to be prepared for your first day of classes at NIC.

- Summer/Fall 2026 Admits: All New Students must attend a Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) Session. SOAR session dates will become available to sign up for on March 1.
- Late-Start Spring 2026 Admits in AA/AS degree programs: Contact Advising Services at advising@nic.edu or (208) 769-7821.
- Late-Start Spring 2026 Admits in AAS/ATC/BTC/ITC degree or certificate programs: Contact CTE Advising at (208) 769-3448.
Step 3:
Complete the following important tasks prior to attending Orientation so you are able to register in classes at Orientation!
- Complete your Advising Profile
- Complete Math & English Placements

Submit Official Documents - In addition to the online application, official documents may be required to be accepted.
Certain programs may require additional documentation not listed below. Check your MyNIC My Documents for requested items.
