NIC Board of Trustees to participate in training session
Posted: Tuesday, Jan 31, 2023Members of the North Idaho College Board of Trustees will participate in a training session on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at the college’s Parker Technical Education Center. This training session does not fulfill the requirements of an open public meeting, thus will not be open to the public.
Last week, the NIC Board of Trustees participated in an open meeting law training facilitated by the Idaho Attorney General’s Office. At that training, the trustees and administration learned that the trustees may gather as a quorum without it being an open public meeting as long as they are not meeting “to make a decision or to deliberate toward a decision on any matter.”
College Administration has decided, in an effort to be transparent about the trustees’ activities, to provide an informational notice about the upcoming training session as a courtesy to the public.
The training session is part of board onboarding and will include an overview of the college and board development. No decisions nor deliberations toward any decision will take place.
