About AEC Class Enrollment

Upon arrival, you will meet with a student advisor and complete the steps below.

Please be ready show the following:

  • Social Security Number
  • Personal Contact Information (phone number, email, and home address)
  • Emergency Contact Information (if available)

And one of the following documents:

  • REAL ID (Valid Idaho Star Card, driver’s license, or state ID)
  • U.S. birth certificate
  • U.S. passport
  • For other acceptable forms of identification, see the List of Acceptable Documents.

Then:

  1. Complete the intake form.
  2. Discuss student expectations.
  3. Set your personal goals.
  4. Complete the TABE assessment, which helps determine your current skill levels.
  5. After testing, determine class schedule.

Note: All students complete a TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) assessment when they begin. This assessment helps us determine the best learning path for you. Once certain skill levels are reached, students may transition to college or workforce programs, where additional support and resources are available.

The TABE assessment takes up to 3 hours and includes testing in three subject areas: Reading, Math, and Language. Testing is completed the same day. You may request breaks or accommodations if needed.
